Ladyewell is a shrine of our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary and Martyrs of Lancashire adorned with historical facts dating from 11th century. It has been a locus of contact between God and his people around the globe. It is a historical centre of pilgrimage that draws many pilgrims from various places, especially within the UK, in season and out of season.
It is by divine providence that we, the priests of the Holy Family Fathers and Brothers of the Youth from Nigeria, West Africa are here as instruments of God’s grace to humbly direct the affairs of this Holy Centre of Pilgrimage in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lancaster. Ladyewell is attached to St. Mary’s RC Church, Fernyhalgh, the parish where we work as Pastors of souls.
We marvel and are heartened at the zealous faith and spiritual disposition shown by the faithful as they come in numbers to worship our Lord Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament and to give honour to the ever Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God. May their faithful adoration of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament and their devotion to the ever Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, be acceptable to God the Almighty Father. Amen.
